Southern France

Between the 14th and the 17th of June, 3rd ESO students have been visiting the area known as Rousillon, in Southern France. They have visited many interesting places:
  • Carcassonne
  • Perpignan
  • Saint Jean Pla de Corts
  • Coulliure
  • Fou Canyons
  • Canet en Rousillon
  • Saint Michel de Cuxa
They have done many different activities, apart from visiting those places, as for example taking temperatures at different times and producing graphs, for example. They have also produced different leaflets in English, where they have included information about this area and interesting proposals of things to do or visit.

In this post we are showing you some of the productions.

Our penfriends

Tell me about your penpal

Here they are!! Showing the final productions!

Penpalling has been an activity which was highly followed in English speaking countries. Nowadays, though, with new technologies, it has been relegated to the past, given that we prefere writing e-mails or text messages instead of letters.

However, our school started a few months ago a new project where we will exchange letters with a school established in Turkey. It is the school Ülkem Koleji, in Manisa (Turkey). First, we got into the programme by Cambridge Penfriends and we waited for a school which matched us. So, in fact, they found us. When we received the letters from the Turkish students we read them, compared them, shared the information included with our friends and finally we wrote the letters to be sent back to the Turkish school. We are also going to display those letters so everybody in our school can see them. In this post, we are showing you some of the pictures we took that day.

Unfortunately, our summer holidays are very near and maybe the project will be continued in September again.
How interesting!

Science

In our optional subject (1st ESO) we have been learning vocabulary about parts and features of animals. Some of them are furry and others swim and have scales. Others fly and some others are our best friends and live with us at home. We have produce some presentations about our favourite animals. Maybe you can think about other different animals that you may like, but these are our choices. Enjoy!

Films and literature

Almost everybody likes films. Not everybody likes reading, but if you do, you have maybe watched a film based on a book you have read before. Here we'll show you some pieces of work made by 2nd ESO students which compare books and films which are based on them. Tell us if you have read/watched any of them.
