What did you watch last night? 

-why did you like the programme? Because it is funny and entertaining. 
-what was there in the programme? There was a lot of interesting and funny actions. 

 GOT TALENT! 
 Last night I watched Got Talent Spain. It’s a Talent Show. It started in UK but in 2016 did it in Spain. It was created by Simon Cowell. The winner wins 150.000 euros. There are two phases: the auditions, and the semifinal and the final that are in direct. Started at 22.00 in Telecinco. It is very funny and entertaining. The programme consist that people that have a talent, present to these talent show. There are 4 judges ; Risto Mejide, Edurne, Eva Isanta and Paz Padilla. There’s also a presenter, is Santi Millán. There are eight golden buzzers, but in the programme of last night the judges ask to an oder golden buzzer!

OPERACIÓN TRIUNFO 

Last night I watched the last gala of a very good music programme that it’s call Operación Triunfo. It was on TVE 2 at 10:30 pm and it finished on at 1:00 am approximately. I like it because I love dancing. I also like singing but I don’t do it very well… I love the contestants and the presenter he is so funny, but I don’t like the judges… They are so strict. I’m a little bit sad because this edition is finished. But I don’t mind because I want to meet the next contestants!

MARIO BROS

Mario Bros was invented in 13 September. Shieru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka invented Mario bros. Mario bros is a console game. Many people know Mario bros. Now Mario bros is very different from the beginning:

It was launched in different countries:

●    Japan the 13 September 1985,

●    In the USA the 18 October 1985,

●    In Europe the 12 May 1987 and

●    In Australia the 1 July 1987.

A short history of Mario bros:

Mario was going to called Miyamoto but Shieru Miyamoto wanted to be a character for his next videogame and call him Mario to introduce it to the North American market. Also he introduced a Luigi, Mario’s brother, to play the multiple player.

Hello everyone! We came back to school three weeks ago and we are already writing tasks using our personal laptops.

In this post, you will be able to read and learn about different comic characters which are probably better known as their roles in films. You'll see some of them have been in our lives for decades, while others have appeared in our cultural lives much more recently.

Our hometown 

All of 1st ESO students live in towns, villages or even cities in the same area. To show you what our hometowns are like, they have created presentations using digital tools as Google Drive. That means they also worked collaboratively to compose everything. Afterwards, they explained what they had discovered to the rest of their classmates. We think it's a great opportunity to start talking in English and give short speeches.

NOW AND THEN 

Our lives are different from our parents' and our grandparents'. In order to practice the simple past, 1st ESO students have asked their parents and grandparents about their lifestyles when they were teenagers themselves. As a result, our students have created texts and presentations about the differences in clothes, free time activities, food and many more issues which have changed a lot during the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century. 

Some of the presentations have been created through Google Drive, which means you can see it if you click here. Some others have been written using word processors or presentations. Anyway, it's been fun to investigate about the past and to discover how life was so different not so long ago.

Eating out

First ESO students (aged 12-13) have been learning new vocabulary about food and drink. An interesting and creative way of using these new words is writing a menu of a restaurant. There are many of them, obviously, and you'll see here just a choice. There have been Italian, Indian or Spanish restaurants, along with cafés or ice cream shops.

We have also introduced a new digital tool called Canva. Forget about old pieces of cardboard. They have created colourful and imaginative pieces of work.

Hi there! Enjoying the Christmas break? In this post, today, we want to show you some of the descriptions our 1st ESO students wrote. The aim of the activity was practising the present continuous tense and revising vocabulary about clothes and people's feelings.

Canterville Ghost

We believe watching films and plays is a great idea to improve our listening skills. This is why 1st and 2nd ESO students attended a play on 3rd November, performed by an amateur group. The play was The Canterville Ghost, by Oscar Wilde.

Before going to the theatre, students did some research about Oscar Wilde and then about the play, especially the characters. We worked a dossier written by the company Transeduca, which also provided some alternative activities. We decided to work on that working collaboratively, because in our school we think it is a great way to teach and learn from peers.

One of the activities was designing a ghost. Our students had to draw how they imagined one of the main characteres of the story and although they had read an adaptation in Primary School, the designs were quite funny.

Apart from that, they had to design a "For sale" sign in order to sell a house. Unfortunately, it was a haunted house, which included a ghost in it.

Finally, another activity our students enjoyed was designing a comic with the story. Some of the comic stripes were quite simple but others made us understand the story completely.

Surveys

Surveys are an interesting tool to know about people's activities, likes or ideas. 1st ESO students have written surveys which could be used to know about their classmates' eating habits, sports practice, extracurricular activites, etc.

Due to the lack of time, we haven't been able to answer all the questions, but they have imagined what the results would be and have written short paragraphs about what they think their friends do or like. 

Apart from that, they have practised getting graphics, which are also a visual tool to understand facts.

Daily activities

A good way to practice present simple and basic structures is work with routines. Our daily activities include a wide range of vocabulary, including frequency adverbs.

Characters

1st ESO have learnt how to write simple descriptions of film characters and the actors or actresses who have played those roles. 

In this post we have included most of the descriptions written by them (aged 11-12) in the English class. Apart from that, they have used the basic vocabulary and grammar of the unit (parts of body and verbs to be and have got). It's worth reading it!
