Last weekend I went to the cinema with my friends and we saw Wonder
Wonder is a melodrama film based on the best-selling book: Wonder by R.J. Palau. The story begins
with Auggie
Pullman a child who born with a facial malformation. Now, after years of
hospitals and periods at home, he will have to face up lots of problems like
going to the school for the first time. Thanks to the support of his parents,
Auggie will try to fit in his new school with new colleagues and teachers.
All of us have read this book in the class, so after looking the film we
found some similarities and differences.
Similarities with the book:
The plot doesn’t change a lot. The director respects the structure of
the book and all the views of different characters. The characterization is very well and has the same requirements as the
book such as the several scars that Auggie has on his face.
Differences with the book:
Different views of some characters are missing for example: Justin view.
It’s also missing some parts such as the forest part where Auggie lose his
glasses and his hearing aids.
I have enjoyed looking at this movie because it makes a great reflection that a child should not be judged of his appearance because what really matters is his character.
