Social issues

Social issues are those facts which affect lots of people in different countries. 2nd ESO Students have chosen different issues and have looked for some information about them. Later, they have produced some interesting pieces of work. We are showing some of them here. If you want to know more about social issues, click here.

Descriptions

Here we are showing you some writing tasks, done by 3rd ESO students. The aim of the task was using linking words, describing what the people in the picture were doing and the background... They also had to make up some sort of story around the picture. We hope you like the results.

TV programmes

All of us spend some time in front of the TV, watching the same kind of programmes. 2nd ESO students have written some texts about the kind of programmes they like watching. Their texts include information about the programme, pictures and personal information about them.

Cartoons

Not so long ago, our 2nd ESO students used to watch cartoons almost daily. Here you can see some of the most popular among them. Did you use to watch the same, by any chance? Maybe you still watch them...

You will see there are two shows which are the most popular: Doraemon, a Japanese cartoon and Sponge Bob Squarepants. We don't really know where their popularity lays, but here they are. There is also another cartoon, The Simpsons, which is mostly addressed to adults but it's watched by children, too, although we think they don't understand most of their jokes. Anyway, we hope you like our choice.

Cambridge Penfriends

We made it!

We are taking part in the Cambridge Penfriends Exchange!!

We hope we will be able to meet new people through postcards and short letters from other countries around the world. That will mean we will have to work harder on our writing skills, but it will be worth it. We'll keep you informed.

What are they doing?

A good way to practise the present continuous is describing pictures. Students doing the Optional Subject 'Vocabulary I' have chosen different pictures and have described what people are doing in these pictures. They have used a simple and clear vocabulary but it has been a good experience to learn how to use this verb tense.
