TRAVELLING

My name is Berta and I love travelling around de world. A few years ago, I started travelling with my family to different beautiful places in the world. 

I think that when you travel disconnect about all the worries and you can spend time with yours. I remember my first trip the best of all my travels. I was two years old and my brother has just born. My parents organized a trip to the snow. I remember me and my father skiing and my mother and my little brother looking at us.

Another trip that I remind with a lot of happiness is when I went to Menorca with my family. It was the year 2011 and my brother obviously was bigger than the snow trip. We went every day on the beach and we ate on restaurants.  

VISITING NEW YORK

Everybody says going to New York is a great thing to do, but have you ever thought about what is it that makes this city so special?

Well, most people think it’s because of the people that live in it, others think that it’s its decoration, but the main reason is, the monuments and the buildings that are in it. This is to show you the best 5 places to visit in New York:

 1. The Statue of Liberty, it’s a sculpture on Liberty Island and was built by Gustave Eiffel. This is the most common  place to visit because of the special place it is in and the amazing views you have got into the city once you are there. You cannot miss it!

   

 2. Central Park, a park in middle of the city in which loads of people go to do some sport or even to spend the day, you must go there if you visit New York because, honestly, it’s amazing. You cannot imagine how beautiful it is walking around there. And if you are tired, you can always hire bikes!!

 3. Memorial Museum 11S, a very heart-moving place to go certainly, but it’s a very curious and fascinating museum to go because it explains what happened that day, the day that many fire-fighters lost their life.

4.  Top of the Rock, the best place you can go if you want to experience the best views you’ve ever seen from such a high height!

WARNING: if you’re afraid of heights, don’t go, you won’t have a ‘great’ time.

5. The 5th Avenue, a great place to visit in the city if you want to buy anything but specially because of how this avenue is decorated. Although it is very nice, it’s very expensive but despite that you should go because you won’t see anything like that ever, it’s an amazing Street even to walk in!!

1- Bali (Indonesia)

The first place is for the island of Bali.

Famous for its temples - they say it has more than ten thousand - its white sand beaches, its natural beauty and its impressive culture.

One of the best on the island-, Lake Batur, its indescribable rice fields and its volcanic zone.

2- London (United Kingdom)

 Everything and that London has suffered attacks people have decided to go.London offers a wide variety of places to visit such as Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, the London Eye, where you can appreciate fascinating views of the city. National Gallery and Covent Garden.

3- Paris (France)

Although the recent terrorist attacks Paris has been the third most vistited city in the world.

And has influied the Eiffel Tower, which in 2019 will turn 130 years since it was inaugurated, shines like never before on the sky of the city. Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, Moulin Rouge.

 4-Santorini (Greece)                                                 

Santorini is one of the most famous islan thanks to its blue f cupuals so represetative.The island is on top of a mountain where you can see the sea around you.The city is full of small blue and white churches.

                              

5-Dubai, UAE

Dubai is one of the most expensive cities. Everything and that we can visit the tower The Burj Khalifa (or Califa Tower), with its 828 meters

You can also visit the center of the city with all those buildings, and even go to the beaches.

A happy ending

Traveling is great. It doesn't matter if you drive, fly or just walk. Having some free time and discovering a new culture is always a fantastic experience. For a few days or weeks you may feel adventurous and will be able to experience how other people in other areas live. 

Not everything always goes as planned, though. That's why we have written some short stories which seemed to be a complete disaster but that finally had a happy ending. Enjoy!

London is an exciting city. It's full of life, sites to visit... Second year students have used webquests and have discovered many things about this city they didn't know before.
