It is a collection of 6 short stories, theme around food and drink. We read together 'Water of Wanting', where a scientist invents an additive that increases people's attraction to certain food. Then, we read in groups each of the other five stories:
- A bed and breakfast owner who is determined that  one of ther guests should try her famous 'Full English Breakfast'
- A young boy who learns to cook with the help of a great uncle and magic ingredients in 'Kung Fu spice'
- A Japanese master chef who must prepare his own last meal in 'Fugu'
- The effects of eating chocolate after a comet approaches the Earth in 'Changes'.

After reading the stories, students worked collaboratively and did a presentation based on each of the stories, just using pictures, and explained the stories to the rest of classmates. They also wrote down all the words which may be confusing or new,

In this post we include two presentations for each of the stores, given that we have two different classes.

Collaborative projects

This year we have introduced a new way of working. It is through collaborative tasks or projects. There are many different structures and systems, of course, but we have tried some of them so far. Using ICT tools, our students have produced nice projects and have learnt from each other in a natural and simple way.

One of our projects was about the reader during the first term. It is called The Phantom of the Opera. We worked in teams and helped each other to understand the plot, find information about the main characters, learn new words... It was an enjoyable activity. Below, you can see some pictures.
